The other day as our small group was reading and discussing a curriculum unit on keeping our environment clean the subject of littering came up. After a few minutes we transitioned to snack time and because the weather was so great I decided to snack the children outside.
After most of the “pretzels” were devoured by a hungry hoard of 3 year old’s, I collected the leftover crumbs and deposited the waste on my lawn for the “animals” to eat. You know – birds, rabbits, squirrels and the like.
As I finished my “clean-up” one little boy quietly reminded me that even though it was nice to feed the animals, I should be more careful because I was littering and of course, that was not nice and Nezzie would not be happy.
Welcome to child care on Long Island – compliments of the Tender Nest.
